We work with businesses to engage individuals in a global solidarity movement to fight chronic malnutrition, a disease affecting 1 in 5 children in the world.
We invest in nutritious food systems that empower women to provide their children with the foods they need for healthy growth and development.
Chronic malnutrition significantly reduces the opportunities for children to reach their full potential to be able to lift themselves out of poverty: children affected are unable to learn as well as their peers in school and are less productive as adults.
Preventing chronic malnutrition is one of the most effective ways to protect the human capital of the next generations.
UNITLIFE engages the private sector and leverages innovative finance to bring new, additional resources for the fight against malnutrition – complementing important but insufficient domestic resources and official development assistance provided by States. Innovative finance refers to non-traditional mechanisms to raise additional funds for development aid through innovative projects such as micro-contributions, taxes, public-private partnerships and market-based transactions. UNITLIFE’s interventions are mainly funded through innovative finance mechanisms.
